To Be or Knot to Be

TO BE OR KNOT TO BE
by
Eric Kobb Miller

The tip of my tie,
never one to be shy,
has always tried to defy
stopping at the spot
I would see, as being
the perfect place for
it to be.

On my first attempt
at making the knot,
the tip of my tie
would go too low,
and on the second try
the tie tip would end
up on a spot too high.

Now, however, I've
gotten my way with
my tie which, with me,
has loved to play.
Gone is the chip it wore
on it's shoulder, as I was
forced to take action bolder.

Its wings I clipped,
and, now, it's neither long nor hip,
but just a bow tie with a clip.
