The Measure of a Man

The Measure of a Man
by
Eric Kobb Miller

She took the measure of a man
by what measures he took to
measure up.

Was he a man upon whom she
could count, or was he simply
the calculating type?

Moreover, was he someone
whose sum total of traits added
up to his being an exponential
power in her life, while she
remained number one in his?

She believed that she had
gauged him accurately,
although deep down inside
she worried that her algorithm
might have skewed the statistics.

She decided to think it out again,
being extra careful not to go off
on a new tangent.
